The Most Requested Employee Benefits for Temporary Workers

Employee benefits are perks offered by employers in addition to base salaries, designed to improve employees’ well-being and enhance job attractiveness.

Health insurance, meal vouchers, and flexible work arrangements are the top three most attractive benefits, according to a Pluria study conducted among 50 companies in Romania and Latin America.

Daca iti doresti angajati temporari motivati si implicati, citeste acest articol si afla ce beneficii extrasalariale sa le oferi si cum influenteaza ele bunastarea la locul de munca.

1. Meal Vouchers

Meal vouchers remain one of the most sought-after benefits, providing temporary workers with additional support for daily expenses.

According to a GfK study, 84% of employers offering meal vouchers appreciate the tax advantages associated with the system, while 75% of responding companies report an improved workplace atmosphere, and 46% state that this benefit has increased employee productivity.

2. Access to Health Insurance

While most permanent employees benefit from health coverage, more companies are now extending private health insurance packages or medical consultation vouchers to temporary workers.

Access to healthcare services is a priority for any employee, and offering this benefit can be a decisive factor in accepting a temporary job.

3. Flexible Work Schedules

33% of the 50 companies surveyed in the Pluria study have already implemented flexible work systems.

Flexibility is one of the main reasons many employees choose temporary jobs. The ability to select shifts or have a schedule that adapts to personal needs is highly appealing.

A flexible schedule allows for a better work-life balance, boosting motivation.

An Adobe study reveals that 84% of employees want flexible work options, while only 16% prefer a standard work model.

4. Remote or Hybrid Work Options

For certain industries and positions, remote work has become a highly desirable benefit, even for temporary workers. The ability to work from home, even partially, is a major advantage. It offers more comfort while reducing commuting time and costs.

5. Professional Development Opportunities

Temporary employees are also interested in skill development. Free courses, access to training programs, or mentorship opportunities are benefits that can help them advance in their careers. Providing learning opportunities enhances temporary employees’ loyalty and improves their performance.

6. Reimbursement and Transportation Coverage

For employees who need to commute daily, covering transportation costs, offering travel allowances, or providing public transport passes is a highly valued benefit. Reducing commuting expenses can make a temporary job offer significantly more attractive.

Offering attractive employee benefits for temporary workers not only enhances their workplace experience but also helps companies attract and retain the workforce they need.

Adapting the benefits package to the real needs of temporary employees can make the difference between an acceptable job and one that appeals to motivated and engaged candidates.
